Hi,

I'm planing to buy an Acer Aspire 1 Netbook. The dealer said it comes with 1 gb ram. So I was wondering if tats enough.

If anyone has the same model, please tell me if its possible to play 2 facebook games e.g Farmville and fishville, smoothly at the same time in say Ubuntu or even Windows.

I realised on my desktop that these flash games are taking a lot of RAM. So this will be a great help.

Update to my input - What I removed was Windows Internet Explorer 8 and Media Player and Media Center (not any Windows File Management programs). I use the program Maxthon2 as my browser and GOM player and SMPlayer for watching videos. Also formatted my hard drive to NTFS before a fresh install of Win 7 (not an upgrade). Also don't waste your time with Win 7 Starter as it will not let you change your desktop background and has other stupid limitations. Hope this helps. Tom

I put Windows 7 Home Premium on my Acer Aspire One with a 16gb SSD (14.9 formatted) and it works fine. Of course there are slowdowns when the SSD is being written to. I use 2 ea. 16gb SD cards for storage. I orignally put Win XP on mine (when I replaced Linux) but I never was able to get rid of the lag in access time that would just freeze the OS for minutes at a time. It drove me crazy. I also upgraded memory to 1.5 gb and replace my wireless card with an n card. Two things that I did do was remove Windows Explorer and Windows Media player/media center. Memory tweaks were not needed as Win 7 does a much better job. I am not a fan of Windows Explorer or Windows Media programs so there was no loss at with removing them. I still have 6.09 gb free out of my 14.9 gb and love the new operating system.

Hi, new here. Need someone, anyone to talk to, I feel like I'm going to lose it one day.
I'll try to make this short but that could some what be hard to do. I was 15 when I got married, my Ex was 29. I ran away from home to be with him, when I call my mom to tell her I was okay, I was expecting my first child with in an couple weeks. That was 25 years ago. 2007 was the worst year of my and my kids life. My Ex and their dad was accused of molesting one of my 10 year olds friends. Lived in small town, he was found quilty and got 30 years. Our marriage hasn't been right for the last 5-6 years and I was waiting for my youngest year old] to get alittle older to leave him. But I knew that once I did he would make me be out to be the bad guy and never leave me alone. I started having females come tell me what the sick-o had been doing to them through the years, then I found out that my two oldest daughters now ages 24 and 21] had been abused by him when very young.
I have overwhemling quilt, so many whys? that it feels like my head is going to bust. I hear them say I'm not to blame but still. I've always prided myself in keeping all child in my home safe. Just didn't know the wolf was under my feet.
I need help in trying to come to terms with this and overcome my very low self esteam.
I have remarried a wonderful man, but I'm scared that all the issues I'm dealing with will be too much for him. He shouldn't pay the price of the emtional damage that someone else caused me.

I'm sorry this post is long, just have alot on my heart.

I have this <a href="http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Black_Acer_Aspire_One_751_702734.html" rel="nofollow"> Acer Aspire one</a>. How easy is it to put an SSD inside?

I am not that good with screwdrivers - is it worth the risk? Also would it invalidate the warranty?

Heh James, I got my <a href="http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/" rel="nofollow">Acer Aspire one from Save on Laptops</a> too.

I didnt realise you could actually change the memory and hard drive in them. Is it an easy thing to do?

No. A HDD doesn't need the NTFS format function.
